Content Editor worked out well

I used the Content Editor for an article last week and it was pretty straightforward. It gave me good suggestions for NLP terms and I liked seeing the Content Score update in real-time. Didn't have any trouble getting my article optimized. The interface was clean and easy to navigate, which was a plus. Overall, it got the job done for what I needed.

Easy setup, solid tools

I signed up for an annual plan after trying out the 7-day trial. The account setup was quick, and my login details arrived instantly. I primarily used the Keyword Research Tool and the SERP Analyzer. Both were intuitive and provided comprehensive data without feeling overwhelming. I had a quick question about integrating with WordPress, so I used their chat support, and they responded within minutes with a helpful link to their documentation. The Content Score feature is really useful for staying on track. Delivery of the service itself was immediate, obviously, since it's a software. I appreciate that they offer multi-language support, as I work on international projects. It's a solid platform for anyone serious about content optimization.

Surfer AI is a game changer!

Oh my gosh, I just had to share how amazing my experience with Surfer AI was! I used it for a new blog post and the content it generated was incredibly good, right on target for SEO. I barely had to edit anything. The whole process was so smooth and fast. I am absolutely going to be using this for all my content now and telling everyone I know about it. Seriously, if you're writing content, you NEED Surfer AI. Can't wait to see what else they do!

Renewal price for my Surfer plan was way higher than I expected this year. Anyone else notice this?

P PoojaR 1 month ago ✓ Best Answer
Mine increased too! I think it's because I was on a legacy plan or a special promo rate initially, and now it's just the standard pricing. Still stings though.

A AnilV 1 month ago
Yeah, I was on an annual plan discount when I first signed up. Guess that's over.

R RohanS 1 month ago
Did you try contacting support? Sometimes they offer a renewal discount if you ask.
1
V VikramG 1 month ago
Same here. I switched to yearly billing last time to save a bit, but even that jumped. Makes me wonder if it's still worth it compared to some others.

A AnilV 1 month ago
I'm checking out alternatives too. The Content Planner is great but the cost is getting up there.

M MeenaK 1 month ago
Hard to say without knowing your specific plan, but annual billing definitely gives you a better rate than monthly. Did you look into that?
10
A AnilV 1 month ago
I was already on annual. It was still a big jump.

M MeenaK 1 month ago
That's rough. Maybe wait for a Black Friday sale if you can?

Thinking of moving from Clearscope to Surfer, anyone made that jump?

R RahulK 2 months ago ✓ Best Answer
I did last year during their Black Friday sale. The Content Editor in Surfer feels more intuitive for me, and the NLP terms guidance is pretty solid. Plus, I got a decent discount on the annual plan then.

P PriyaS 2 months ago
Was it hard to get used to the credit system for the content editor?
4
R RahulK 2 months ago
Not really, it's pretty clear how many credits you use per article. They also have good guides.
5
A AmitM 2 months ago
I've used both. Surfer's good, especially with the Content Score. But I find Clearscope's suggestions sometimes feel a bit more natural. It's a close call.
7
P PriyaS 2 months ago
Good to know. I'm leaning towards Surfer because of the AI writing tool integration.
2
A AmitM 2 months ago
Yeah, that's a big plus if you're into that. Saves a lot of time.

Just got hit with a higher renewal price for my Surfer plan. Anyone else notice this? I was on the Pro plan and it jumped quite a bit from last year's rate.

S Sneha 2 months ago ✓ Best Answer
My renewal was actually fine, but I switched to annual billing a few months ago which locked in a lower rate. I think they usually give a discount for yearly payments. Worth checking if that's an option for you if you're month-to-month.
8
R RaviK 2 months ago
Ah, that's smart. I'm on monthly, so maybe that's why. How much did you save with annual billing?
6
R RahulM 2 months ago
Following this, considering switching to annual if the savings are good enough.
2
S Sneha 2 months ago
It was around 20% off the monthly rate, I think. Definitely makes a difference over a year.
6
P PriyaS 2 months ago
Yeah, same here. My renewal for the Basic plan went up too. I thought maybe I missed some email about price changes but couldn't find anything specific in my inbox. A bit annoying when it's not clearly communicated.
11
D DeepakG 2 months ago
Mine increased too, but I think my initial subscription was on some legacy pricing that just expired. Could be that?

A Ankit88 2 months ago
Did you contact support about it? Wondering if they offer any loyalty discounts for existing users.

A ArjunC 2 months ago
I haven't renewed yet, but I'm due next month. This makes me nervous. Maybe I should look for a Black Friday deal if it's coming up soon?
2
P PriyaS 2 months ago
They usually have Black Friday sales, but not sure if they apply to renewals or just new subscriptions.

Can you actually use Surfer for languages other than English, or is it mostly focused on English content?

A Anna 2 months ago
Yup, it supports multiple languages. I've used it for German content before and it worked fine. Not just English.
0
R Rosa 2 months ago
Yeah, it does. I've seen settings for other languages in there, so you're not locked into just English.

Is there a free trial for Surfer or anything like that? Want to check it out before committing to a full plan.

F Faith 3 months ago
Yeah, they have a 7-day trial. You can test it out for a week, just make sure to cancel before it ends if you don't want to continue.
3
R Rachel 3 months ago
Yep, 7 days. I signed up for it last month, pretty straightforward process.

Thinking of getting Surfer, but heard good things about Clearscope too. Anyone used both and can tell me which one's better for content optimization?

N Nick Brooks 2 months ago
I've tried both. Surfer felt a bit more intuitive for me, especially with the content editor. Clearscope is good but I found Surfer's suggestions more actionable.
6
I Ivy Kim 2 months ago
Clearscope is awesome for really deep dive stuff, but Surfer is probably more versatile if you're doing a lot of writing and need something faster for initial drafts and outlines. It kinda depends on your workflow.

Thinking of trying Surfer AI for content generation. Has anyone used it extensively and can share their experience? Specifically curious about how it compares to just using the Content Editor and an external AI writer.

G GauravS 1 month ago ✓ Best Answer
I've been using Surfer AI for about 3 months now. It's decent for getting a first draft done quickly, especially if you're brief on time. The integration with the Content Editor is super smooth, which is a big plus. It saves a lot of copy-pasting. However, don't expect it to be perfect out of the box; still needs human editing for tone and accuracy.
20
G GauravS 1 month ago
Exactly. Think of it as getting 70-80% of the way there. You still need to polish it, add your brand voice, and fact-check. But it cuts down initial writing time significantly.
7
T TechieTina 1 month ago
So it's more like a very advanced outline/first draft generator than a final content piece?
1
C CreativeK 1 month ago
That's good to know. I was hoping it could replace my writer entirely, but sounds like it's a productivity tool.

R RituD 1 month ago
I mainly use the Content Editor and then paste in content from Jasper. It works well for me. Surfer AI is interesting, but I'm already comfortable with my current workflow and Jasper's output quality for my needs. Plus, I have more control over the AI prompts in Jasper.
4
T TechieTina 1 month ago
That's my current setup too. Was wondering if Surfer AI would be a significant upgrade to justify the cost.
4
N NikhilP 1 month ago
I tried the trial for Surfer AI and found it a bit too generic for my niche. For general topics, it's probably fine, but for technical B2B content, it required almost as much editing as if I wrote it from scratch. The Content Editor itself is still my go-to for optimization though.
9
H HealthWrite 1 month ago
Yeah, I heard it might struggle with very specific niches. Mine is in health, so I'm wondering if it'll be too bland.

F FinanceGuru 1 month ago
Mine is in finance, and it was a mixed bag. Good for basic explanations, but not for deep dives.

Does Surfer ever have promo codes, or is it mostly just the annual discount? I've got a new project coming up and trying to save some cash.

R Rosa 3 months ago
They mostly do automatic discounts for annual stuff, which is usually a good chunk off. Sometimes they have specific campaign codes, but those are less common and usually tied to a specific marketing thing.
1
G Gwen 2 months ago
I think I saw a Black Friday deal once, that was pretty sweet. Otherwise, the yearly billing savings are probably your best bet. It's like 17-30% usually.
